Stevensville Public Schools

May 18, 2010

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Stevensville Public Schools have received the grant for $828,000 allowing the facilities to be completed as planned. But, with all grants there are strings attached and this one stipulates the money must be spent in one year. So by June 30, 2011 the total grant must be expended. So what does that mean to us?

It means the schedule for construction hasto bemoved up, forcing us to displace the Band, Choir, and Kitchen for the last couple of months nextyear. So now what? We are discussing our options andhope to have definite answers in the next couple of weeks. I understand this disruption is not optimal for education, but this small sacrifice must be made to complete our plans. However, I honestly believe that with planning and collaboration we can make this work and still offer the best education to our students.

Please contact me if you have any questions or suggestions. I will do my best to let you know of any updates.
